Making sure me and my young family can trust that what we drink is safe has prompted me into action. It’s no use saying, well I drink bottled water anyway and I’m safe, as even that fact has been questioned by numerous studies. They highlight too many inconsistencies where quality is concerned, amongst a largely unregulated industry.

Many have concluded that issues of cost and environmental concerns about the sheer volume of plastic bottles clogging up ever decreasing land fill sites is not worth it. I’ve got to say that I agree with that statement and having kids of my own I worry about what kind of world are we going to be leaving them?

It;s interesting to note that even some public and government offices are taking a stance on this and removing water coolers and installing a water filter.

So, perhaps we should be thinking about something along the lines of an alternative solution, one the experts describe as a drinking water system which delivers a clean and safe domestic supply for all our daily needs including bathing and washing.

But please don’t rush out and buy the first one that you see as we need to make sure it does a couple of important and simple things.

While we want a system that is efficient at removing all or at least most of the harmful contaminants we also need it to retain the naturally occurring minerals that our bodies benefit from. Typically that will involve the use of a filter that contains carbon which is good at filtering out even harmful bacteria, pesticides and herbicides.
